WHO AM I?
The Full Story
Hi! I’m Amanda (Woodward) Davis. I am a Lawrence, Kansas native currently working as the Global Social Strategy Lead for an international communications and marketing firm, based in Victoria, BC. My husband, Josh, and I live in East Lawrence and are very active with our neighborhood.
I have been running meetings, volunteering with numerous charity organizations, planning large events, and public speaking since I was 11 years old. I love doing work that benefits the community around me and have a very deep love of Lawrence.
I am a reformed Kansas City commuter. I worked for two different companies in the fields of financial services and airport consulting in Kansas City, as well as a stint as a Project Manager for one of the research centers at The University of Kansas.
I have been actively involved in and held leadership positions in community and civic organizations. I am a former Event Co-Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Douglas County, founder and former Event Chair of the Girlfriend’s Gala, Past President of the Board of Directors for Just Food, the local Douglas County, Kansas food bank, a member of the Community Health Improvement Plan Steering Committee for the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, and on the Boards of the Lawrence Preservation Alliance and Social Media Club of Lawrence.
I hold dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and eMarketing from Franklin University and a Master’s degree in Digital Content Strategy from The University of Kansas, William Allen White School of Journalism.
